RELEASED: Oct. 7, 2005
EAU CLAIRE — Spectrum, the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's GLBT student organization, will co-sponsor an Action Wisconsin Speakers' Training to Stop the Ban scheduled for 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Eau Claire (421 S. Farwell) in downtown Eau Claire.
This training is part of a statewide campaign to stop the proposed amendment to the Wisconsin Constitution that would ban civil unions and marriage for gay and lesbian couples. The training focuses on helping opponents of the ban to communicate effectively about the amendment and LGBT rights.
AW welcomes all people interested in stopping the ban, including non-gay allies who want to help defeat the amendment. You do not have to commit to being a speaker to attend.
Please register by Oct 17th by contacting speaker@actionwisconsin.org or call (608) 441-0143 ext 309. This training is part of a statewide Speakers Network aimed at having thousands of personal, face-to-face interactions about the amendment. For more information, visit their Web site.
The LGBT Community Center of the Chippewa Valley is co-sponsoring the event.
