Brianna Lane to Present Free Concerts
at UW-Eau Claire's Cabin Dec. 1-3

RELEASED: Nov. 21, 2005

Brianna LaneEAU CLAIRE — Brianna Lane will present three free concerts at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Dec. 1-3. Her shows will begin at 8 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday in The Cabin, Davies Center.

With her guitar riding shotgun, Brianna Lane traveled from her hometown of Minneapolis to the mountains of Asheville, N.C. In 1998, shortly after she arrived, she found a love for songwriting and performance. Lane quickly became a refreshing addition to Asheville's rich acoustic music scene, and touring the east coast she quickly gained the confidence to shine on stage. Venue promoter Sally Pomer has said, "Brianna is a rising star… She has a presence beyond her years."

Lane is best known for her sensual smoky vocals and her crisp guitar work. Lyrically she draws from her own knowledge of travels and relationships to create intimate portraits for her audiences. Her performances are a blend of original tunes, anecdotal stories and the occasional stupid joke.

In September 2002, Lane released her well received debut CD, "On Rooftops," produced by Asheville folk legend Chris Rosser. Fayetteville's Up & Coming Weekly Magazine hailed it as "a must have for your CD collection… a slice of pure, uncut, acoustic excellence."

The show is open to all ages. Soda, domestic and imported beer and popcorn will be sold. Proof of age is required for alcohol purchases.

The Cabin program is sponsored by the University Activities Commission of the UW-Eau Claire Student Senate. For more information visit The Cabin Web site or contact the Activities and Programs office, (715) 836-4833.
