UW-Eau Claire Women's Chorus to Perform Fall Concert Nov. 21

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin Eau Claire Women's Chorus will present their fall concert at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21, in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center.

The Women's Chorus, directed by Daniel Newman, associate professor of music, will begin with Newman's own arrangement of the "Star Spangled Banner," followed by "Songs of Late Summer" by Robert Baksa. The ensemble will perform Schubert's "Gloria," with solos by freshman Laura Barth, Neenah, and sophomore Amelia Spielman, Eau Claire.

"Laudate Pueri" by Mendelssohn and "Fire, Fire My Heart" by Thomas Morley also will be featured in the concert. Freshman Dominique Sicand, Neenah, will perform a solo in "The Four Marys," arranged by Robert DeCormier. The ensembles final selection is "Go Where I Send Thee," arranged by Paul Caldwell and Sean Ivory.

Tickets, available at the University Service Center, (715) 836-3727 or (800) 949-UWEC, are $4 for the general public; $3 for those 62 and older and children 17 and younger; and free for faculty, staff and students with a university ID.
