EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's Women on Wednesday's series will present "Got 2, Give 1: Living Kidney Donation," Wednesday, Nov. 16, at the Hibbard Hall Penthouse. From 4:30-6:30 p.m., guest speaker Patti See will discuss her experiences donating a kidney to a stranger and answer questions from the audience.
See is a senior student services coordinator and teacher of developmental education and women's studies at UW-Eau Claire. In July of 2005, See donated one of her kidneys to a stranger at Fairview University Medical Center in Minneapolis. She was the 33rd non-directed donor accepted into Fairview's world-renowned transplant program.
Sponsors of the event include Interim Provost and Vice Chancellor Steven Tallant and the Office of Academic Affairs, Associate Vice Chancellor Kimberly Barrett and the Office of Student Development and Diversity, the Women's Studies Program, UW-Eau Claire Commission on the Status of Women, Women in Higher Education and the American Association of University Women-Eau Claire Chapter.
