Chris Koza to present free concerts
Nov. 3-5

RELEASED: Nov. 2, 2005

EAU CLAIRE — Chris Koza will present three free concerts Nov. 3-5 at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. His shows will begin at 8 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday in The Cabin, Davies Center.

The biography on his Web site states that Koza "is a Portland-born organically raised mid-westernized citizen of the 21st century; part artist, part songwriter, part performer; part folk and part pop."

On his debut album, "Exit Pesce," Koza played the role of songwriter, performer, and engineer. Each song features vocals and an acoustic guitar, with additional instrumentation ranging from piano to violin. The album also features back up vocals from singer/songwriter JoAnna James, who played at The Cabin during the spring 2005 semester, and the members of Koza's band, formerly called the Channels but now referred to collectively as Chris Koza.

Rob Van Alstyne of The Pulse of the Twin Cities reported, "On eight tracks of warm sophisticated folk-pop, Koza makes music that holds serious appeal for both the studious indie-rock listener or fan of classic Jackson Browne — in other words, me."

The show is open to all ages. Soda, domestic and imported beer and popcorn will be sold. Proof of age is required for alcohol purchases.

The Cabin program is sponsored by the University Activities Commission of the UW-Eau Claire Student Senate. For more information visit The Cabin Web site or contact the Activities and Programs office, (715) 836-4833.
