EAU CLAIRE — Seven students were initiated into the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Chapter of the Order of Omega Greek Honor Society April 19 during Honors Week at UW-Eau Claire.
The Order of Omega was founded in 1959 at the University of Miami by a group of outstanding fraternity men who felt it was important to recognize fraternity men and women who have attained a high standard of leadership in interfraternity activities. They hoped to encourage them to continue and to inspire others to strive for similar goals.
Following are this year's UW-Eau Claire initiates:
After the Greek Awards Reception May 10, members of the Order of Omega chose their officers for the 2005-06 academic year. Schweitzer, from Sigma Sigma Sigma, was chosen as president; Brossard, from Alpha Xi Delta, was chosen as vice president/membership chair; and Bouton, from Sigma Sigma Sigma, was chosen as secretary/treasurer.
