Tip Sheet for the Week of May 2, 2005

RELEASED: May 2, 2005

Story Idea
Chippewa Falls resident James Roch, 82, is pursuing an MBA through the UW Internet Business Consortium offered by UW-Eau Claire, UW-La Crosse, UW-Oshkosh and UW-Parkside. Confined to a wheelchair, he takes classes via the Internet. He's near the top of his class this semester. Roch, who worked in the aerospace industry in California, moved to his hometown four years ago. He chose the UW MBA program because UW-Eau Claire was close and he knew of its reputation for excellence. His caregivers and a daughter in Pittsburgh help with the technology. He hopes to earn an MBA and take part in a graduation ceremony. Roch earned a bachelor's degree in business administration in 1951 at UW-Madison after serving in World War II. For details, contact Robert Erffmeyer, MBA program director, at (715) 836-4644 or erffmerc@uwec.edu.

Little research has been done about how bullying has extended into electronic communication tools. For details, contact Patchin at (715) 836-4058 or patchinj@uwec.edu.
