SUBJECT: Campus Source on Social Security
Dr. Rodd Freitag, associate professor and chair of the political science department at UW-Eau Claire, is available to talk with the media about Social Security policy. His extensive research in public welfare policy gives him a broad understanding of the Social Security program and various reform proposals.
Overhauling Social Security continues to be among the top items on President Bush's domestic agenda. His proposal includes allowing younger workers to set up personal retirement accounts with a portion of Social Security payroll taxes that would be invested in stocks and bonds. In return, future retirees who set up those accounts would see a lower benefit check.
You can reach Dr. Rodd Freitag at (715) 836-5044 or freitard@uwec.edu.
