Folk Duo Patchouli to Perform at UW-Eau Claire Outdoor Concert

PatchouliEAU CLAIRE — The acoustic folk duo Patchouli will present a free outdoor concert at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire on Monday, June 20.

The Summer Session Programs show will begin at 7 p.m. on the Central Campus Mall. Refreshments will be sold. Audience members are invited to bring blankets or folding chairs for lawn seating.

Julie Reitz and Bruce Stanton create a pure honest sound through her passionate and playful vocals and musical versatility and his fluid guitar improvisations. Patchouli has logged thousands of miles, played hundreds of shows, made TV appearances, and has been featured on world and folk radio programs across the country. The duo just released its seventh album.

Also on campus during the week of June 20 are these free Summer Session Programs:

  • "A Nightmare on Elm Street" (1984) will continue a "Summer Screamer" festival of horror films, screening Monday through Thursday at 7 p.m. in Davies Theatre. Wes Craven's film about a razor-fingered monster who enters the dreams of the teenage residents of a bucolic town is rated R.
  • Jazz combos will play during lunch in the open air, from noon to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday on the Central Campus Mall. A variety of grilled lunch items will be sold.
