UW-Eau Claire to Offer
'Summer Pilates' Class

RELEASED: June 10, 2005

EAU CLAIRE — University Recreation at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire will offer a "Summer Pilates" class from 6:30 to 7:15 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, June 14-Aug. 4, in the McPhee Dance Studio of the McPhee Physical Education Center.

Pilates is a method of finding balance in the body through stabilizing the core muscles. A series of movements done from a sitting reclining, kneeling or standing position, pilates promotes increased strength, flexibility and wellness. It is popular with athletes, dancers and other performance artists, as well as those simply seeking to improve body conditioning.

The cost is $70 for UW-Eau Claire students, faculty and staff and $110 for community members.
