RELEASED: Jan. 13, 2005

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's department of art & design invites the community to join its annual spring trip to New York City.

An informational meeting about the trip is planned for 7 p.m. Feb. 3 in Room 105 of the Haas Fine Arts Center on lower campus.

The annual trip is scheduled during the university's Spring Break. Participants will leave at 6 p.m. March 18 from the Haas Fine Arts Center and will return on March 27.

The trip provides an opportunity for students, faculty and community members to explore art, music, theater and food while roaming through Manhattan and the Boroughs.

The cost of the trip includes motor coach transportation and seven nights in double or quad rooms with kitchenettes at the Wellington Hotel, located in the middle of the theater district and a few blocks from Central Park. Although not a guided tour, there are daily optional group activities planned, including visits to the major museums such as the recently expanded Museum of Modern Art and the National Museum of the American Indian in Washington, DC.

The per-person ticket price is $550 for a quad room and $750 for a double room.

The deadline for purchasing tickets is 5 p.m. Feb. 16. Tickets may be purchased in person at the University Service Center in Davies Center or by phone at (715) 836-3727. Cash, credit card or checks will be accepted.
