Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday Celebration Set
for Jan. 17

RELEASED: Jan. 4, 2005

EAU CLAIRE — The Eau Claire Human Rights Coalition will sponsor a Martin Luther King Jr. birthday celebration Monday, Jan. 17.

"A Dream for All People" is slated for 5-6:30 p.m. Jan. 17 at the Boys and Girls Club of the Greater Chippewa Valley in downtown Eau Claire. A social time is planned for 5-5:30 p.m., with a formal program to begin at 5:30 p.m.

The program will feature the singing of the Black National Anthem and innovation; the reading of the "I Have a Dream" speech; elementary and middle school children presentations about Martin Luther King Jr.; a University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire student presentation about Martin Luther King Jr.; children's art projects; and cake and celebration.

The Eau Claire Middle Level Invitational Choir from Eau Claire public schools and the North High School Jazz Ensemble will perform during the program.

The Children's Museum of Eau Claire will provide activities for children during the program.
