JoAnna James to Present Free Concerts
at UW-Eau Claire

RELEASED: Feb. 9, 2005

EAU CLAIRE — JoAnna James will present three free concerts at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Feb. 17-19. Her shows will begin at 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday in The Cabin, Davies Center.

A singer-songwriter hailing from St. Paul, Minn., James has had considerable experience performing her unique and addictive blend of folk, soul, classical, and alt-country live around the Twin Cities area and the Midwest. James brings her songs alive through her soulful voice, dynamic guitar playing and her command of an array of instruments, including acoustic and electric guitars, harmonica, piano, violin and accordion.

James has shared the stage with such musicians as Jamie Cullum, Jessy Greene, Ken Stringfellow (of REM, The Posies and Big Star), Joseph Arthur, Charlie Parr, Ellis, Ben Connelly, The Banfield Collective, Joan Griffith, Chris Koza, The Channels, Pop Wagner, and more. Bill Banfield of The Banfield Collective said, "The earthy, warm voice and guitar style of JoAnna James rings true. She will move the industry with her work and leave the rest of us with an unforgettable music presence."

The show is open to all ages. Soda, domestic and imported beer and popcorn will be sold; proof of age is required for alcohol purchases.

The Cabin program is sponsored by the University Activities Commission of the UW-Eau Claire Student Senate.
