Preparatory and Fine Arts Program Adds Saxophone, Voice and Viola Lessons

RELEASED: Dec. 20, 2005

EAU CLAIRE — University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Continuing Education is offering a variety of Preparatory and Fine Arts programs, tailored for all skill levels and ages, beginning in January 2006. Included are some new offerings. All classes will be held on the UW-Eau Claire campus.

  • Private lessons in saxophone, voice, piano, flute, cello or classical guitar for ages 5 and up, beginners through advanced. There will be thirteen 30-minute lessons. (Cello lessons may be taken for either 30 or 45 minutes.) Instructors: Stephen Elfstrand, Maria Dossin, Lora Beebe, Lisa Mott, Daniel Weggel, Jeffrey Jaworski, Laurie Lau, Susan Halderman.
  • Suzuki violin and viola lessons for ages 3 and up. There will be thirteen 30-minute lessons plus monthly one-hour group lessons. Instructor: Summer Joy Brackhan.
  • Creative Drama for grades 3, 4, and 5 on Mondays, beginning Jan. 23, 2006, from 4:15-5:15 p.m. Instructor: Emily Berg.

Adult Art Classes:

  • Scrapbooking, Saturday, Feb.18, 2006, 1-4 p.m. Instructor: Anessa Huff
  • Creative Writing: Short Stories (based on your own experiences/memoirs). Thursdays, Feb. 9-March 16, 2006, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Instructor: Joanna Dane
  • Introduction to Digital Photography, Thursdays, March 2, 9, 16 and 30, 2006, 6:30-8 p.m. Instructor: Jennifer Dietzler
  • Watercolor Painting, Thursdays, March 16-April 25, 2006, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Instructor: Ned Gannon.
