UW-Eau Claire Forensics Team Finishes Season
at UW-Stout Tournament

RELEASED: Dec. 9, 2005

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire forensics team placed third with a small team at their last tournament of the year. The tournament was held at UW-Stout Friday, Dec. 2, and Saturday, Dec. 3.

In addition to placing third in team sweepstakes, several students finished off events for the American Forensics Association National Tournament and the National Forensics Association National Tournament.

Following are the individual results from the UW-Stout tournament:

Junior Amy Oldakowski, Sobieski, placed first in persuasive speaking, second in impromptu speaking and third in extemporaneous speaking.

Senior Chris Conklin, Green Bay, placed first in dramatic interpretation, qualifying that event for AFA, second in music interpretation, and fifth in prose interpretation.

Senior Chris Kamrath, Chetek, took third in informative speaking, fourth in after-dinner speaking, and sixth in extemporaneous speaking, qualifying that event for NFA.

Freshman Crystal Navarrete, Fullerton, Calif., placed fourth in informative speaking, qualifying that event for NFA, and sixth in after-dinner speaking.

Senior Abby Czeskleba, Middleton, took fifth in persuasive speaking, qualifying that event for NFA, and fifth in after-dinner speaking.
