Three Classified Staff Members Retire
from UW-Eau Claire

RELEASED: Aug. 1, 2005

EAU CLAIRE — Three classified staff members recently retired or will retire from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire this summer.

John Bergeson, an electrician in Facilities Planning and Management since 1978, retired in July after 27 years of service.

Patricia Burbach, a program assistant 2 in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences, retired in June. She started as a limited term employee at Lincoln Hills School, Department of Health and Social Services, in Irma. In 1988, she took a permanent program assistant 1 position at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield, which is part of UW-Eau Claire's satellite baccalaureate nursing program. She was reclassified to a program assistant 2 in 2000 and retired with 15 years of service.

Nora Fuller, a program assistant 2 in Admissions, will retire in August. She started as a limited term employee in the Media Development Center in 1969. In 1970, she was hired as a home economist for Eau Claire County at the County Extension Office. Nora came back to the university in 1989, and during that year she worked as a limited term employee in both Registration Services and in the Adult Opportunity office. In 1990, she was hired as a permanent program assistant 1 in Admissions. She was reclassified to a program assistant 2 nine years later and will retire with 20 years of service.
