Earlie Birdie Golf Outing to Raise Funds for NYSP

RELEASED: April 15, 2005

EAU CLAIRE — The Earlie Birdie Golf Outing will take place Friday, May 13, at Princeton Valley Golf Course as part of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's annual Rec Fest.

Proceeds from the tournament will go to support the National Youth Sports Program, an award winning program for boys and girls ages 10-16 that takes place on the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire campus. The federally funded program is conducted by University Recreation and provides area youth with an opportunity to learn sports skills and receive information about drugs and alcohol, nutrition, careers and higher education.

The tournament is for any level of golfer and costs $25 per person (four people per team). Anyone can play and the fee includes nine holes, lunch, prizes and a t-shirt. Games will be held at each hole for a chance to win prizes. A lucky winner could even take home a new set of golf clubs.

Register at Hilltop Recreation Center by noon Thursday, May 12. For more information, contact Lisa Schuetz, University Recreation student services program manager and NYSP activity director, at (715) 836-2176.
