Gerontology Lecture Series to Examine Self-Management of Chronic Lung Disease

RELEASED: April 12, 2005

EAU CLAIRE — The Center for Health and Aging Services Excellence and The Advisors on Gerontological Education at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire will present "Taking Care: Self-Management of Chronic Lung Disease" as part of the third annual Gerontology Lecture Series.

The lecture will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, at the L.E. Phillips Senior Center in Eau Claire. Attendees are encouraged to park on the side streets surrounding the facility.

The session will explore timely topics relating to the field of gerontology, and participants will learn about principals and techniques that can help people who are living with chronic lung diseases.

This discussion will be led by Cheryl Brandt, assistant professor of adult health nursing at UW-Eau Claire. Brandt is a nurse researcher who studies the self-management of chronic lung disease.
