UW-Eau Claire's Women's Chorus to Present Spring Concert

RELEASED: April 7, 2005

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Women's Chorus will present their spring concert at 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 18, in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center.

Women's Chorus, directed by Dr. Daniel Newman, associate professor of music, will be accompanied by freshman Kristin Wood, Black River Falls, on piano. Senior Jo Ellen Ortiz, St. Croix Falls, also will assist the group on piano. The ensemble will open with Orazio Vecchi's "Fa una Canzone," following with "Three Spanish Ballades" by Eugene Butler. Other composers featured in the concert will be Allen Koepke, Johannes Brahms and Leonard Bernstein. The concert will conclude with "I'm a Train" by Mike Hazelwood and Albert Hammond.

Tickets, available at the University Service Center, (715) 836-3727 or (800) 949-UWEC, are $4 for the general public; $3 for those 62 and older and children 17 and younger; and free for faculty, staff and students with a university ID.
