Three Women Peacemakers to Share Hopes for Peace April 8-9

EAU CLAIRE — Three women peacemakers will share their experiences with the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and their hopes for a just peace during an April 8 presentation at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.

" Jerusalem Women Speak: Three Women, Three Faiths, One Shared Vision" will run from 7:30-9 p.m. April 8 in the Tamarack Room of Davies Center. A second presentation will begin at 10 a.m. April 9 at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Eau Claire.

The UW-Eau Claire Women's History Month event will feature Nina Mayorek, Aitemad Muhanna and Diana Kattan, all of whom have witnessed the deterioration around them during the past four years of Israeli-Palestinian fighting.

The women will discuss how their lives have been shaped by violence, occupation and the renewed possibility of substantive Israeli-Palestinian negotiations.

Event sponsors include Partners for Peace; National Peace Foundation; the UW-Eau Claire Chancellor's Office; First Congregational United Church of Christ; the UW-Eau Claire Center for History, Teaching and Learning; the UW-Eau Claire departments of history, economics, political science, English and geography; and the UW-Eau Claire Center for International Education.
