Suzuki Violin Offered By
UW-Eau Claire's Preparatory Arts
MAILED: Dec. 19, 2002
EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire’s Preparatory Arts Program is adding Suzuki Violin to its schedule for the spring semester.
Beginning the week of Jan. 21, Janelle Severson, who has been on the faculty at the American Suzuki Institute in Stevens Point and a clinician in Wisconsin, will offer 15 weeks of lessons in the Preparatory Arts Studio in the Haas Fine Arts Center. Severson also has long-term registered Suzuki violin training with the Suzuki Association of the Americas for Books 1A-8.
The program provides comprehensive string instrument training using the Suzuki Method developed by the late Dr. Shinichi Suzuki. It is based on the idea that all children can learn to play a musical instrument given the proper support from the teacher and parent.
Suzuki Violin is open to beginners or young violinists who wish to improve their skills.
Lesson times will be arranged between student(s) and the instructor. For the 15-week lessons, fees range from $170 for 15-minute lessons to $620 for 60-minute lessons. Lesson fees include group lessons and play-in fees. Fees can be paid in two equal installments with the first payment due by Jan. 21.
For more information on the program, contact La Vone Sneen at the Continuing Education Office at (715) 836-3636 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
