MIS Students Awarded
Scholarships at UW-Eau Claire

EAU CLAIRE — The department of management
information systems at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire awarded scholarships
to six students Nov. 18.
Senior Josh Peterson,
Chippewa Falls, and junior Richard Tkachuk, DeForest, each received a scholarship
through 3M Corporation of St. Paul, Minn. Recipients must have an overall
cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above and a 3.0 GPA or above in the MIS major. They
also must have completed 90 credits at the end of the fall semester with plans
to return as a full-time MIS major in the spring.
Junior Jeffrey Carlson,
Little Falls, Minn., received a scholarship through the Cargill Corporation
of Minneapolis. The recipient must have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.25
or greater, be a last semester junior or a first semester senior, be active
in extracurricular activities and be of “outstanding character”
as judged by MIS faculty.
Senior Kelly Henry,
Northfield, Minn., and junior Eric Kraus, Waunakee, also received scholarships
funded by the Cargill Corporation. The recipients for these scholarships must
have overall cumulative GPAs of 2.75 or greater, be a last semester junior
or first semester senior, be active in extracurricular activities and be of
“outstanding character” as judged by MIS faculty.
Senior Feng Deng,
Eau Claire, received a scholarship through Federated Insurance of Owatonna,
Minn. The recipient must have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above and
a 3.0 GPA or above in the MIS major, have completed 90 credits at the end
of the fall semester and return in the spring as a full-time MIS major.
All applicants had
to submit a letter of application, an up-to-date transcript and a two-three
page biographical essay.
