EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire department of music and theatre arts will welcome choreographer Kim Neal Nofsinger as an artist in residence Dec. 2-7.
Nofsinger is the artistic director of Shelter Repertory Dance Theatre, which he founded in 2001. His choreography has been produced throughout the United States and abroad in Spain, France, Belgium, Germany and Austria. Nofsinger is in his first year of teaching in the School of Dance at Ohio University. Previously, he taught at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, State University of New York-Geneseo, Illinois State University, Winona State University and Connecticut College.
During his artist in residency at UW-Eau Claire, Nofsinger will teach, choreograph and speak. The following events are free and open to the public.
- Master Class in Intermediate Modern Dance: Tuesday, Dec. 3, 7-9 p.m., McPhee Dance Studio, Room 105
- Intermediate Ballet Technique Class: Tuesday and Thursday, Dec. 3 and 5, 9:30-11 a.m., McPhee Dance Studio, Room 105
- Musical Theater and Jazz Dance: Tuesday and Thursday, Dec. 3 and 5, 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m., McPhee Dance Studio, Room 105
- Public Lecture: “The Arts and Social Issues”: Thursday, Dec. 5, 7-8 p.m., Phillips Recital Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center
