UW-Eau Claire Art Department Invites
Everyone to Join Them in New York

MAILED: Nov. 19, 2002

EAU CLAIRE  If you’ve always longed to see New York, or have been there and wanted to go back ever since, here’s your chance. Let the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire’s art department take care of the travel and accommodation arrangements for you when you join them on their annual spring trip to New York.
An informational meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, in Room 105 of the Haas Fine Arts Center.
The annual trip, scheduled to leave at 6 p.m. Friday, March 14, 2003, and return on Sunday, March 23, is an opportunity for students, faculty and community members to explore art, music, theater, food and the sights of Manhattan and the Burroughs.
The cost of the trip includes round-trip motor coach transportation and seven nights in either double or quad rooms in a mid-town hotel located just a couple blocks from Central Park. Although not a guided tour, there are optional group activities planned most days, including a visit to the Museum of Modern Art in their temporary location in Queens and to P.S. 1 Contemporary Art Center.
Participants can purchase a 7-day pass for unlimited subway and bus rides for $17.
The per-person cost is $500 with student ID (quads), $550 for all others (quads) or $750 for doubles. Tickets are available now at the University Service Center in Davies Center or by phone, 836-3727. Deadline for purchasing tickets is Feb. 9, 2003.
Everyone is invited to the informational meeting. For details, call the UW-Eau Claire art department at 836-3277.
