EAU CLAIRE — The University Band at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire will present a concert at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2, in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center.
The University Band, directed by Dr. Randal Dickerson, assistant professor of music and theatre arts, will open the concert with Alfred Reed’s “The Hounds of Spring,” a work inspired by lines from a poem by Swinburne. The performance will feature six other compositions, including “Michigania,” a three-part work composed by Michael Cunningham, UW-Eau Claire professor of music. Senior Timothy Doleysh, Appleton, will conduct Clifton Williams’ “Dedicatory Overture,” and the performance will conclude with “Prelude, Siciliano, and Rondo,” composed by Malcolm Arnold and arranged by John Paynter.
Tickets, available at the University Service Center, (715) 836-3727 or 1-800-949-UWEC, are $3.75 for the general public; $2.75 for those 62 and older and children 17 and younger; and free for faculty, staff and students with a university ID.
