To Perform Fall Concert Nov. 24![]()

EAU CLAIRE —The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Wind Symphony will present a concert at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24, in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center.
The Wind Symphony, directed by Dr. R. Mark Heidel, assistant professor of music and theatre arts, will open the concert with “Fantasia in G” by Timothy Mahr. The program also will include William Goldstein’s “Colloquy for Solo Trombone and Band,” featuring Rodney B. Hudson, associate professor of music, on trombone; “Lincolnshire Posy” by Percy Aldridge Grainger; and David Kneupper’s “Passacaglia and Fugue Rondo.”
Under the direction of guest conductor Gary E. Smith, associate director of bands emeritus at the University of Illinois, the Wind Symphony will perform “Commando March” by Samuel Barber and “Hymn” by Luigi Zaninelli. The performance will conclude with “Midway March,” composed by John Williams and arranged by James Curnow.
Tickets, available at the University Service Center, (715) 836-3727 or 1-800-949-UWEC, are $4.75 for the general public; $3.75 for those 62 and older, children 17 and younger and faculty and staff with a university ID; and $1.25 for students with a university ID.
