UW-Eau Claire Places Second
In Mid-American Forensics League Tournament

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire forensics team participated in the Mid-American Forensics League Tournament held on the UW-Eau Claire campus Saturday, Oct. 26.
The team placed second in the tournament and three students qualified for the American Forensics Association national tournament.
Individual results for the MAFL Tournament are as follows:
Sophomore Kelly Bender, New London, placed first in persuasive speaking and after-dinner speaking, which qualified her for the AFA tournament, as well as first in duo interpretation with senior Scott Boras, Kellogg, Minn.
Boras also took first place in poetry interpretation and qualified for the AFA tournament as well.
Sophomore Andy Bevernitz, Clintonville, took third place in dramatic interpretation, qualifying him for the AFA tournament, as well as fifth place in communication analysis.
Sophomore Amanda Dolan, Greenfield, placed fifth in poetry interpretation and sixth in persuasive speaking.
The team will take next weekend off to get ready for the largest regular qualifying tournament of the season at Bradley University Nov. 8-9.
