UW-Eau Claire Concert Choir
To Perform Nov. 10

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Concert Choir will perform at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 10, in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. A performance by Impromptu, a six-member a capella ensemble, also will be featured during the concert.
The Concert Choir, directed by Dr. Gary Schwartzhoff, associate professor of music, will begin with a Dutch piece, “Gaudete Omnes,” from “Cantiones Sacrae” by Jan Pieterzoon Sweelinck. The group will continue with a Polish piece, “Cantate Domino” by Józef Swider, and a Slovonic/Russian church piece, “Ghóspodi, pomíluy” by Grigory Lvovsky, featuring baritone soloist Justin Lundberg, Eau Claire.
The group also will perform “Alleluia,” from “Songs of Faith” by Paul Basler of Milwaukee. This piece will feature senior Jenifer Schwartzhoff, Eau Claire, on piano; Andrew Parks, associate lecturer, on horn; Jeff Crowell, assistant professor of music, on percussion; and senior Eric Becker, Hartford, on percussion.
The Concert Choir will conclude the performance with “Hold On!” arranged by Moses Hogan who visited the university in the spring of 2002 as part of the Artist Series. The UW-Eau Claire Concert Choir commissioned this piece from Hogan.
Tickets, available at the University Service Center, (715) 836-3727 or 1-800-949-UWEC, are $4.75 for the general public; $3.75 for those 62 and older, children 17 and younger and faculty and staff with a university ID; and $1.25 for students with a university ID.
