EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire music and theatre arts department will present the following musical performance the week beginning Monday, Oct. 28. The event is free and open to the public.Thursday, Oct. 31:
- Eu-Tu(ba) will present a tuba and euphonium concert at 7:30 p.m. in the Phillips Recital Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. Eu-Tu(ba) was formed in the fall of 2000 as a way for student/faculty collaboration. The group is comprised of junior Dawn Holte, Sheboygan; senior Andrei Strizek, Sun Prairie; senior Jeffrey Specht, Arden Hills, Minn.; and Dr. Jerry Young, professor of music. The quartet will begin the concert with “Contrapunctus IX,” composed by Johann Sebastian Bach and arranged by Mike Forbes, and end with “Sweet Georgia Brown,” arranged by James Garrett. This presentation is part of OcTUBAfest 2002, which runs the month of October.
