MAILED: Sept. 27, 2002
EAU CLAIRE — Larry Weber, chair of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Foundation board of directors, will be inducted into the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants 2002 Business & Industry Hall of Fame.
Weber is executive vice president and chief financial officer at Bauer Built Inc. in Durand and past president of the Wisconsin Institute of CPAs. The AICPA honor recognizes his leadership in the accounting profession and his achievements as an industry CPA. An induction ceremony is planned for the AICPA 2002 National Industry Conference on Oct. 17 at the Hyatt in New Orleans.
“Larry Weber’s expertise in finance and accounting, as well as in leadership, is invaluable to the UW-Eau Claire Foundation,” said Carole Halberg, Foundation president. “No one in his profession is more deserving of this prestigious honor.”
As chair of the UW-Eau Claire Foundation board, Weber is a key leader in the university’s first comprehensive fund-raising campaign, Fulfilling the Promise of Excellence, which seeks to secure $35 million in private support by July 2005 for the university’s people and programs. He also serves on the Foundation’s Investment Committee and has served on the Business Advisory Council of UW-Eau Claire’s College of Business.
