UW-Eau Claire Recreation To Hold 'Fear Factor$' Competition
MAILED: Sept. 27, 2002
EAU CLAIRE — University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire students will have a chance to test their bravery at the first ever “Fear Factor$” competition, slated for 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, on the UW-Eau Claire campus.
The event is based on FOX’s popular show “Fear Factor,” in which contestants are challenged to perform a variety of crazy stunts in order to determine which squad is the boldest.
Students have until 4:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, to register in teams of two at the Hilltop Recreation Center. The cost is $10 per team and the event is limited to 25 teams. Spectators are encouraged and admission is free.
The first place team will win a pair of $200 travel vouchers, with second and third place teams also awarded a prize. All participants will receive a T-shirt.
“Fear Factor$” is sponsored by University Recreation, the National Residence Hall Honorary, the Residence Hall Activities Board, United Hall Council and Peer Health Educators. The competition is being recognized as part of National Collegiate Alcohol Awareness Week, which UW-Eau Claire will be celebrating Oct. 20-26.
