Forum on Conscientious Objection To be Held at UW-Eau Claire Oct. 8

         EAU CLAIRE  A forum and discussion, “Uncle Sam Wants You? The Draft and Conscientious Objection,” will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8 in the Oneida Room of Davies Center at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
     The forum, led by the Eau Claire Friends Meeting, will begin with a dramatization of Mark Twain’s “War Prayer” and includes draft counseling information and the experiences of conscientious objectors of the past 35 years.
     This is the second of three sessions in the series “Peace and Conscience in the Face of Conflict and Violence: Peaceful Responses and Personal Choices in Times of Uncertainty and War.”
     The event, cosponsored by the UW-Eau Claire Chapter of Amnesty International, the Network of Unitarian Universalist Students and the Eau Claire Friends Meeting, is free and open to the public.
