MAILED: Aug. 23, 2002
EAU CLAIRE — Parents can spend time with their children while children learn gymnastics basics through a program offered this fall by the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
"Moms, Dads and Tots," designed to follow official Olympic guidelines, will help boys and girls ages 2 to 3 learn gymnastics through proper instructions and fun activities. One or both parents are expected to accompany their enrolled child.
Class No.1 will run from 9 -9:45 a.m. Wednesdays, Sept. 11-Dec. 11. Class No. 2 will run from 9-9:45 a.m. Saturdays, Sept. 14-Dec. 14. No classes are scheduled Nov. 27 and 30.
All classes will be held in room 204 of the UW-Eau Claire McPhee Gymnasium.
The cost is $72 per child for a 14-week class. Class size is limited to 15 children. A $25 processing fee will be withheld for cancellations that are received at least two weeks before the first class session. No refunds will be given after this time.
Program director Lisa McIntyre, UW-Eau Claire's women's gymnastics coach, has more than 15 years of coaching experience. She was an elite gymnast who toured with the 1984 U.S. Olympic gymnastics team. Members of the UW-Eau Claire gymnastics team will add their expertise to the staff.
