Seven New Students at UW-Eau Claire
Awarded $2,000 Scholarships

EAU CLAIRE — Seven students who will attend
the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire this fall have been awarded $2,000
scholarships for the 2002-03 academic year.
Cynthia Fenimore, Eau Claire, a graduate of
North High School and the daughter of Dennis and Karen Fenimore, and Kyle
Gruber, Mondovi, a graduate of Mondovi High School and the son of Doug and
Debbie Gruber, will receive Sentry Insurance Student Leadership Scholarships.
Five other students will receive UW-Eau
Claire Foundation Achievement Scholarships. They are Kristin Geiser, Chilton, a
graduate of Chilton High School and the daughter of Luke and Gail Geiser;
Katherine Kind, Lakeville, Minn., a graduate of Lakeville High School and the
daughter of Dale and Grace Ann Kind; Jason Kowieski, Madison, a graduate of La
Follette High School and the son of George and Karen Kowiescki; Jennifer
Laursen, Burnsville, Minn., a graduate of Burnsville High School and the
daughter of Dan and Darlene Laursen; and Lindsey Zastrow, Green Bay, a graduate
of Southwest High School and the daughter of Michael and Susan Zastrow.
Both the Sentry Insurance Student Leadership
and UW-Eau Claire Foundation Achievement Scholarships are awarded to new
freshmen at UW-Eau Claire who are majoring in business administration, computer
sciences or management information systems (MIS), accounting, finance,
mathematics (actuarial science), or engineering. Recipients are selected based
on academic achievement, national test scores, and school and community
leadership and service. The scholarships are renewable for up to three years.
