EAU CLAIRE — Ten students who will attend the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in the fall have been named Kopp Presidential Scholars for the 2002-03 academic year.
The university awards Kopp Presidential scholarships, valued at $1,000 each, to up to 10 new freshmen on the basis of academic achievement, national test scores, and school and community leadership and service. The non-renewable scholarship funds are made possible by a gift from Kopp Investment Advisors, Edina, Minn., to the UW-Eau Claire Foundation Inc.
Kopp Presidential Scholars are:
Jessica Evers, Kaukana, a graduate of Freedom High School and the daughter of Kevin and Lorie Evers.
Kathryn Hansel, Stevens Point, a graduate of Pacelli High School and the daughter of Kathy and Greg Hansel.
Krista Hebel, Two Rivers, a graduate of Washington High School and the daughter of John and Joan Hebel.
Kelsey Kuba, Bloomer, a graduate of Bloomer High School and the daughter of Mark and Diane Kuba.
Sarah Landwehr, Stratford, a graduate of Stratford High School and the daughter of Ardell and Theresa Landwehr.
Brian Martin, Green Bay, a graduate of Bay Port High School and the son of Terry and Teresa Martin.
Daniel Mathews Jr., Woodbury, Minn., a graduate of Woodbury High School and the son of Dan and Kathy Mathews.
Anna Nummelin, Stevens Point, a graduate of Stevens Point Area Senior High School and the daughter of Bruce and Mari Nummelin.
Karin Rasmussen, Eau Claire, a graduate of Memorial High School and the daughter of David and Cindy Rasmussen.
Brian Vander Kamp, Abbotsford, a graduate of Abbotsford High School and the son of Leo and Maureen Vander Kamp.
