EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire music and theatre arts department will present the following musical performances the week beginning Monday, April 22. All events are free and open to the public.MONDAY, APRIL 22:
- Sophomore trumpeter Tom Krochock, Minneapolis, and sophomore tubist Mark McGinnis, Maplewood, Minn., will perform a recital at 5 p.m. in Phillips Recital Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. Kristin Yost, a junior from Sisseton, S.D., will provide accompaniment on the piano. Various works will be performed, including "Du Style" by Theo Charlier, "Infernal Dance" by Igor Stravinsky and "Danny Boy" arranged by Patrick Sheridan.
- Senior soprano Lisa Wilhelm, Boscobel, will perform a recital at 7:30 p.m. in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. Community member Judy Lies will provide accompaniment for the five-piece performance. Included in the performance are "Prologue from D' Orfeo" by Claudio Monteverdi, "Ciascun lo dice" by Gaetano Donizetti and Jake Hegge's "Natural Selection."
TUESDAY, APRIL 23:
- Senior Dan Urness, Platteville, will perform a trumpet recital at 5 p.m. in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. Junior Kristin Yost, Sisseton, S.D., will provide accompaniment on the piano. Four works will be performed, including "Sonata for Trumpet" by Kent Kennan and "Legend for Trumpet and Piano" by Georges Enesco.
- Professor of music and theatre arts Richard Fletcher will perform a recital at 7:30 p.m. in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. Barbara Wimunc-Pearson, professor of music and theatre arts, and Kristine Fletcher, senior lecturer of music and theatre arts, will provide accompaniment on the piano and bassoon respectively. The String Quartet of the Eau Claire Chamber Orchestra will provide assistance. Included in the quartet are community members Joan Molloy and Adele Mann, both on the violin; Linnea Brown, a sophomore from St. Paul, Minn., on the viola; and UW-Eau Claire staff artist Andrew Block on the cello. Works by various artists, including W.A. Mozart and Jack Delano, will be performed.
WEDNESDAY, APRIL 24:
- Junior trumpeters Brian Thorstad and Andrew Dziuk, both of Hastings, Minn., will perform a joint recital at 5 p.m. in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. Junior Kristin Yost, Sisseton, S.D., and junior Andrei Strizek, Sun Prairie, will provide accompaniment on the piano. Various works will be performed, including pieces by Domenico Gabrielli, Kent Kennan and Alexander Arutunian.
- Juniors Sarah Goerg, Appleton, and Matthew McVeigh, Stevens Point, will perform a recital on the clarinet and saxophone respectively. Junior Matthew Steinbron, Eagan, Minn., and community member Judy Lies will provide accompaniment on the piano. Five works will be performed, including "Fantasie Orientale" by Max d'Ollone, "Improvisation et Caprice" by Eugene Bozza and "Grand Duo Concertant" by Carl Maria von Weber.
THURSDAY, APRIL 25:

- The American Music Therapy Association for Students will perform a recital at 5 p.m. in Phillips Recital Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. Eight works will be performed, including James Collis' "Festival Solo", "Put Your Lights On" by Carlos Santana and "Hands" by Jewel. AMTAS is a UW-Eau Claire student organization comprised of music therapy students.
