To Offer Variety of Interactive Classes![]()

EAU CLAIRE — The 25th annual Summer Institute at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire will offer youth in the Chippewa Valley in grades one through 12 an opportunity to enjoy 82 class offerings.
The Summer Institute emphasizes fun, interactive and hands-on classes. The first session will be held June 10-20 at Parkview Elementary in Chippewa Falls, and the second session will be held July 8-18 at Lakeshore Elementary in Eau Claire and UW-Eau Claire. Class times are from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. or 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays.
Class offerings include "Good Vibrations," a new class emphasizing the science behind music through inventing and playing instruments; "Life in a Mayan Village," in which students experience the culture and daily life of a village in Mexico; and "Mini-Musical," a chance for students to put on a musical complete with props, costumes, dialogue, choreography and singing. Other class subjects include math, science, reading, art, theater, computer, languages, history and social studies.
Tuition for the Summer Institute is $60 plus a $10 material fee for most classes. A supervised lunch period will be offered to students involved in morning and afternoon classes for a $10 fee. Enrollment is on a first-come, first-served basis, and classes fill quickly.
