To Sponsor Middle School Lock-in

EAU CLAIRE — The Eau Claire chapter of the Student Education Association is sponsoring a lock-in for Altoona students in the fifth and sixth grades on Friday, March 15 at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Bowling and Billiards Center and McPhee Physical Education Center.
Over 80 volunteers will plan activities designed to promote leadership, communication and cooperation skills.
As a part of its Community Learning through America Schools Grant Program, the National Education Association has provided a $1,000 grant to help fund the project.
The NEA Student Program is a grassroots organization serving more than 47,000 members nationwide. Goals of the NEA-SP include providing opportunities for professional development and leadership training and advocating for student members and student concerns.
CLASS is an organization composed of National Education Association members who work to address key educational issues and improve the overall quality of education within their community. Since 1989, students on more than 100 U.S. college campuses have become involved with CLASS programs.
