         EAU CLAIRE — Members of the National Association of Teachers of Singing recently elected Kathryn Proctor Duax their vice president for discretionary funds and field activities.
         Proctor Duax, professor of music in the department of music and theatre arts at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, will begin her two-year term of office in July at the NATS national convention in San Diego. She previously served as NATS north central regional governor from 1996 to 2000 and as the Wisconsin chapter governor.
         Proctor Duax has sung extensively in the Midwest, appearing with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, the Minnesota Bach Society and the Florentine Opera. A frequent recitalist, she has also performed on Wisconsin Public Radio.
