EAU CLAIRE — A Viennese Ball Dance Workshop at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire will help patrons brush up on or develop their ballroom dancing skills before the 28th Annual Viennese Ball, scheduled for April 12-13 on campus.
Dr. Ida Hinz, former chair of the UW-Eau Claire department of physical education, and regional dance instructors David and Karen Goggin will conduct the six-session workshop.
Beginner-level sessions will meet from 6 to 7:30 p.m., and intermediate-level sessions will meet from 7:30 to 9 p.m. on these dates:
Thursday, March 14
Tuesday, March 19
Thursday, March 21
Tuesday, April 2
Thursday, April 4
Tuesday, April 9
All classes will meet in the Tamarack Room of Davies Center.
Instruction will focus on the waltz (slow, medium and fast), fox trot, swing and polka. Up to 50 people may register, alone or with partners, at any skill level.
Participants must have tickets to the Viennese Ball. Registration is $30 per person ($15 for UW System and Chippewa Valley Technical College students) at the University Service Center, (715) 836-3727.
The workshop is sponsored by the Activities and Programs office.
