MAILED: Jan. 18, 2002
EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire will offer two photography-related adult enrichment workshops in February.
"Manipulating Digital Photographs" will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 12. Participants will learn how to enhance digital photographs using various software programs. Several techniques will be discussed, such as cropping and resizing images, adjusting the brightness and contrast of photos and adding filters. A digital camera, along with photographs on a diskette and/or a camera, is required for the $35 class.
"Ready, Aim, Produce! - Getting More From Your Video Camera" will take place from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Feb. 16, and Saturday, Feb. 23. The program will discuss ways to transform "home movies" to artful productions through a combination of demonstration, hands-on activities and critiques. Topics include camera basics, video production methods, shooting to tell a story and in-camera editing techniques. A video camera (with a charged battery), the owner's manual and a tape for recording are required for the $45 class.
Participants must pre-register for the workshops. To register or obtain more information, call the Continuing Education office at (715) 836-3636. Space is limited. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. The deadline is 10 days before the start of the workshop.
