Adult Opportunity Programs
Offered at UW-Eau Claire
MAILED: Jan. 3, 2002
EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire is offering two informational sessions in January for adult students who are planning to attend the university for spring semester.
The Adult Passport Program is for returning adult students who plan to take their first college math or English classes in the spring. Participants will take the UW System placement test, which will help ensure that students get into the appropriate class. General information about university programs and opportunities also will be shared. The program will run from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 12.
The Back-to-School Program is designed for community members who are interested in taking a class or who have already enrolled for the spring semester but want more information about what's available to them on campus. The program, cosponsored by the nontraditional student honor society, Sigma Gamma Zeta II, will also give returning adult students a chance to meet other nontraditional-age students.
Two Back-to-School sessions will be held Tuesday, Jan. 15. The first will run from 9 to 11 a.m., and the second will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. An optional campus tour or an introductory computer workshop will be offered from 11 a.m. to noon following the first session.
Free parking will be available in the Schneider, Hibbard and visitor lots during the sessions.
The programs are free, but participants must register in advance. To register or obtain more information about opportunities for adult students, call the Adult Opportunity office at (715) 836-3259.
