EAU CLAIRE — The University of
Wisconsin-Eau Claire music and theatre arts department will present the
following musical performances the week beginning Monday, Dec. 10. All events
are free and open to the public.
MONDAY, DEC. 10:
- Junior double bassist John Brobst, St. Cloud, Minn., will perform a student recital at 5 p.m. in Phillips Recital Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. Sue Opland will provide accompaniment on the piano. Various works will be performed, including Sonata for Double Bass by Paul Hindemith and Sonata No. 2 for Viola Da Gamba by J.S. Bach.
FRIDAY, DEC. 14:
- A holiday lobby concert featuring various UW-Eau Claire music groups will take place in Haas Fine Arts Center at noon. Groups to be featured include Jazz I, The Singing Statesmen, the Handbell Choir and Music Therapy, who will perform "Silent Night" in sign language. Santa also will make an appearance at the end of the concert giving candy to children.
