AIDS Day Events

EAU CLAIRE — In recognition of the 14th Annual World AIDS Day on Dec. 1, the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Student Senate and Peer Health Educators will be sponsoring AIDS-related events for Monday, Dec. 3.
Three movies will be shown in the Equality Resource Center of Davies Center. "And the Band Played On" will start at 10 a.m., followed by "Philadelphia" at 12:30 p.m. and "The Ryan White Story" at 3 p.m.
The Peer Health Educators will be presenting an informative presentation called "Condom Sundae" at 9 p.m. in the Towers Hall TV lounge.
Red ribbons will be available at an information table located outside Burger King in Davies Center.
Students are also encouraged to attend the local World AIDS Day service at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at the First Congregational Church, 310 Broadway St. A reception at the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgendered Community Center, 510 S. Farwell St., will follow the service.
The theme for World Aids Day 2001 in the United States is "I Care … Do You? Youth and AIDS in the 21st Century."
