Peace and Justice Resource Fair
To be Held at UW-Eau Claire Dec. 5

EAU CLAIRE — Students, faculty, staff and community members interested in learning more about peace and justice can attend the Just Peace Kaleidoscope, a resource and entertainment fair, from 6:30-9 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 5, in the Tamarack Room of Davies Center at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
This free event will provide opportunities to reflect on a wide variety of peace and justice issues. Local and regional groups working on domestic and international peace and justice will have displays and information tables about their organizations. There will also be a Sweet Peace baked goods table where baked goods and peaceful messages will be given away.
From 6:30-8 p.m. there will be musicians performing peace related songs and poets reading original and published peace poetry.
At 8 p.m. Dr. Ingolf Vogeler, professor of geography, will give a speech titled "How Can We Make Them Love Us? Disarming Terrorism."
An anticipated 25-30 groups will be participating in the fair. Some of the groups involved include Interfaith Hospitality Network, Bolton Refuge House, Children's Music Network, Advocates for Multicultural Education, Students for Peace, community and student chapters of Amnesty International and others.
Just Peace Kaleidoscope is sponsored by Students for Peace, Just Peace from the Chippewa Valley and the UW-Eau Claire Chapter of Amnesty International.
