Meets Another Goal![]()

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's Forensics team recently placed fifth among the 36 schools present at the L.E. Norton Invitational at Bradley University in Peoria, Ill., one of the largest and most competitive tournaments of the season.
"The team set their sites high and wanted to place in the top five," said Karen Morris, director of forensics. "For the past four years we've placed eighth through sixth at this event, so the team is very excited about this placing."
Following are the specific student/event results:
Senior Brian Haapala, Grayslake, Ill., took second place in prose interpretation, sixth place in dramatic interpretation, and second place in duo interpretation along with Senior Eric Rasmussen, Eau Claire. Rasmussen also placed sixth in poetry interpretation and went to semi-finals in informative speaking.
Senior Aaron Unseth, Plato, Minn., placed third in persuasive speaking and went to semi-finals in poetry interpretation.
Senior Scott Boras, Kellogg, Minn., took second place in dramatic interpretation and junior Ben Schneider, Greendale, took fifth place.
Freshman Kelly Bender, New London, placed second in novice poetry interpretation and fourth in novice persuasive speaking.
