EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire will offer employers an opportunity to recruit student interns during the annual Internship Fair. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2002, in the Council Fire Room of Davies Center.
For the fourth consecutive year, Career Services and various student organizations will sponsor the event that includes employer booths highlighting internship opportunities. Last year approximately 1,500 students and 90 employers attended the event.
The Internship Fair allows local employers to gain a competitive edge in recruiting interns and future permanent employees, to promote their businesses to UW-Eau Claire students and faculty and to develop a working relationship with the university community.
Employers interested in purchasing booth space should contact Derek Solheim, career counselor, at (715) 836-3956 or (800) 939-8973 by Jan. 14, 2002.
Registration also can be done online at the Internship Fair Web
site,http://imania.uwec.edu/career/im/Home/Home.htm. Online registration will allow employers to receive immediate confirmation via e-mail and the ability to update their registration online prior to the event.
Early registration is suggested, as space is limited. Registration for the event costs $70, which includes one six-foot table, coffee, rolls and lunch.
Employers interested in attending but who do not have the funding for such an event may apply for an employer scholarship. Contact Solheim for more information.
