EAU CLAIRE — The University of
Wisconsin-Eau Claire music and theatre arts department will present the
following musical performances the week beginning Monday, Oct. 8. All events are
free and open to the public.
WEDNESDAY, OCT. 10:
- Freshman pianists Hannah Joy Park, Eau Claire, and Titus
Vettrus, Mondovi, will perform a recital at 5 p.m. in Gantner Concert
Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. Various works will be performed, including
Piano Concerto in C major, Op. 26 by Sergei Prokofiev, Claude Debussy’s
“Images I” and Frederic Chopin’s “Etudes,” Op. 10.
SUNDAY, OCT. 14:
- Les Favorites, a period instrument ensemble specializing in the
music of the middle and late baroque period, will perform at 4 p.m. in Phillips
Recital Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. The performance will feature
associate professor of music and theatre arts Dr. Tim Lane, baroque flute;
professors of music and theatre arts Ivar Lunde Jr., baroque oboe, and Nanette
Lunde, harpsichord; and guest artists Lucinda Marvin, baroque violin, and Laura
Handler, baroque violoncello. The concert will begin with Georg Philipp
Telemann’s Sonata in G minor and feature works of various artists, including
Louis Couperin and Carl Phillip Emanuel Bach.
