EAU CLAIRE — For adults
interested in learning new skills and meeting people, the University of
Wisconsin-Eau Claire College of Arts and Sciences Continuing
Education/UW-Extension is offering Saturday Samplers and Evening Endeavors
throughout September.
“Computer Basics” will be held from 6 to 9 p.m.
Tuesday, September 11. Participants will learn how to start their computers and
find programs, manage a mouse, add and remove programs, and save and organize
files on a hard drive, floppy disc, zip drive and CD. Course fee is $45.
The “Cake Decorating for Beginners” workshop will
teach participants how to create cakes with flowers, borders and trims. The
workshop will run from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11 and Tuesday, Sept. 18. The
demonstration costs $100.
Parents of pre-kindergarten and kindergarten-aged
children will enjoy “Smart Starts.” The program will teach various ways to
use common activities and games to prepare children with school readiness skills
such as letter, number and color identification, and social skills like taking
turns, listening and following directions. The class will run from 9 a.m. to
noon Tuesday, Sept. 22. Course fee is $45.

of each workshop.
