Promotions, Tenure Awards Announced
At UW-Eau Claire |

EAU CLAIRE — University of
Wisconsin-Eau Claire Chancellor Donald Mash has announced promotions in rank and
tenure and other changes of status for members of the faculty and academic
staff. The status changes are the result of action by the UW System Board of
Regents at their June meeting.
Faculty promoted to professor include Dr. Kathryn
Anderson, family health nursing; Dr. Paul Hoff, foreign languages; Dr. Robert
Hollon, curriculum and instruction; Dr. Todd Hostager, management and marketing;
Dr. Mehdi Sheikholeslami, accounting and finance; Dr. Judy Sims, communication
and journalism; Dr. J. Todd Stephens, special education; Dr. Christos Theo, art;
Dr. Charles Tomkovick, management and marketing; and Dr. L. Elaine Wendt, family
health nursing.
Faculty granted tenure and promoted to associate
professor include Dr. Ali Abootalebi, political science; Dr. Eberth Alarcon,
mathematics; Dr. John Bushnell, English; Dr. Susan Hafen, communication and
journalism; Dr. Jason Halfen, chemistry; Dr. Daniel Janik, biology; Dr. Lauren
Likkel, physics and astronomy; Dr. C. Mike Morrison, management information
systems; Dr. Joline Morrison, management information systems; Dr. Eva
Santos-Phillips, foreign languages; Dr. Timothy Vaughan, management and
marketing; and Michael Weber, art.
Faculty granted tenure include Dr. Rudolfo Buiser,
biology; newly appointed Dean of the College of Professional Studies Mark Clark,
foundations of education; and Dr. David Schafer, economics.
Faculty promoted to associate professor include Dr.
Rosemary Jadack, adult health nursing; Cleo Powers, library services; Dr. Karen
Solheim, family health nursing; and Dr. Cecilia Wendler, nursing systems.
Faculty promoted to assistant professor are Janice Berry,
family health nursing; Cathy Cooper, nursing systems; and Rita Sperstad, adult
health nursing.
The following academic staff members received promotions
and title changes: Janice Connolly, business communication, to senior lecturer;
Mitchell Freymiller, biology, to senior lecturer; Bergine Haakenson, English, to
senior lecturer; Jim Knutson-Kolodzne, psychology, to senior lecturer; Jennifer
Lee, Housing and Residence Life, to senior residence hall manager; Stephen Spina,
philosophy and religious studies, to lecturer; Andris Straumanis, communication
and journalism, to lecturer; Jodi Thesing-Ritter, Housing and Residence Life, to
senior residence hall manager; and Theresa Wells, management and marketing, to
senior lecturer.
Academic staff members granted indefinite status include
Andrew Block, Publications; Joey Gibbon; Admissions; Arthur Gulig, music and
theatre arts; and Christine Redetzke and Julie Trainor, Children’s Center.
